Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall Expansion Features
With the Sims 4: Seasons, your Sim can now enjoy seasonal activities to their fullest. Play as different characters in each of the seasons and experience the unique weather of each one.
Change your Sim’s appearance with new clothes and accessories. Get festive with seasonal decorations and holiday seasonal activities, or unlock fresh skills and take on new challenges in special seasonal events. Also, use the built-in weather simulator to plan your perfect vacation based on real world conditions.
Whether you’re a seasoned Sims player or are new, the seasonal activities you gain from Seasons is a fun addition.
(But watch out for them bugs, the expansion pack is known to have some.)
Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter Weather
With four unique seasons, each with their own weather patterns and gameplay features, you’ll never get bored. Lush green landscapes in spring and summer. Cool temperatures and a harvest festival atmosphere in fall. And snow covered grounds with ice skating in winter.
The weather in each season is determined by the climate zone your lot is in. This makes for an immersive and realistic experience. But it’s not just about the weather. Celebrate heartfelt holiday traditions, either from real-world holidays or you can create custom holidays.
If you dream of cozy fall sweaters but IRL it’s the middle of summer – now you can escape to your Sims!
Dress Sims in seasonal attire: from a spring fling, and summer pool party to a bountiful harvest feast and snow angels. There’s plenty of activities to keep you engaged.
Temperature
Experience the thrill of Mother Nature in The Sims 4 Seasons! With the Seasons expansion pack, players can now experience four stunning seasons and the impactful weather that comes with them. From the scorching heat of summer to the freezing cold of winter, players must prepare their Sims for the elements by checking the weather channel and choosing the right clothing. But be careful, if Sims aren’t prepared, they could overheat or freeze to death!
But that’s not all, players can now control the temperature in their Sims’ homes with the new thermostat feature. And for those who want a little extra excitement, turn on the option for strong thunderstorms and blizzards. Or, for a more mild experience, turn off the temperature impact altogether. It’s all up to you! So grab your umbrella and bundle up in winter clothing, because The Sims 4 Seasons is bringing the heat (and the cold) to your gaming experience.
Weather Machine
The Seasons expansion of The Sims 4 offers players the ability to control the weather within their virtual home, thanks to the Weather Machine. This feature is a game-changer for those who want to create a truly unique and immersive experience for their Sims.
It provides a complete temperature and weather interface. Not only can you adjust temperature, precipitation, and wind conditions, but you can also use the Weather Machine to trigger neighborhood events like festivals and parades.
As a player, the Seasons expansion provides endless opportunities for creativity and personalization. Whether you’re striving to create the perfect winter custom holidays or a sizzling summer paradise, the Weather Machine and other seasonal features allow you to craft memorable stories and experiences for your Sims.
Don’t be surprised if you find yourself spending hours tinkering with different weather scenarios, it’s that fun!
Patchy the Straw Man
Introducing Patchy the Straw Man, the newest addition to your lot in the Seasons expansion of The Sims 4. With just a quick search in build mode, you can buy him for 450 Simoleons. Then add him to your collection.
But don’t let his straw exterior fool you. With a little bit of effort and socializing, Patchy can perform cool tricks and comes to life as a helpful gardening assistant.
Once your Sim has befriended Patchy, you’ll unlock new interactions like “Ask for Gardening Tips”. You’ll even gain a scarecrow outfit for your Sim’s wardrobe.
Don’t expect Patchy to always support your blossoming gardening career. Patchy’s not always active. So make sure to check his schedule to make the most of his gardening abilities.
Patchy’s pockets may hold some useful seeds for your garden, so make sure to check them out. So why settle for a plain old garden, when you can have a lively scarecrow friend to help you out? Add Patchy to your lot and see the difference he makes.
Activities & Custom Holidays in Sims 4 Seasons
The Sims 4 Seasons does add charming activities. In the winter your Sims can build snowmen, go ice skating, create snow angels or make homemade holiday crafts. Think if the Sims made a Lifetime channel holiday movie. All the good classics are here and it’s fun to watch your Sims celebrate.
In the summer you’ll have water balloon fights, host a summer pool party (even break out the kiddie pool if you have child Sims) and all the fun things you enjoy in hot weather.
But the real game-changer is the fully functional calendar. This allows you to plan events and even create your own holidays. Whether it’s Lovefest, Harvestfest, Winterfest, or even a polar bear dip, you can invite friends and choose the activities.
The calendar also lets you know who’s available when, so you don’t have to celebrate alone.
One thing I’m really excited about is how Seasons integrates with other Expansion Packs and DLC. For example, players of the Parenthood Game Pack can have teens develop responsibility by shoveling snow and raking leaves.
And if you own The Sims 4 Pets, your furry friends will be affected by the temperature and weather. This allows new interactions with snow and rain puddles.
The Get Together’s Clubs are also incorporated, and the gardening career is a great addition to the Get to Work businesses. Explore the gardening career and have your Sims craft flower arrangements.
Overall, Seasons does a great job of making everything work together seamlessly.
Gardening Career

If you’re into gardening, the Seasons Expansion for The Sims 4 is the move for you.
You can either start a garden from scratch or add to an existing garden. Plus you’ll get to work with all kinds of plants and flowers, as well as harvest crops. But be warned, with dynamically changing weather, it’s not always gonna be perfect. So you gotta be ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at you (or Father Winter).
The Gardening career takes patience and attention to detail, but it is fun to unlock fresh skills. So if you’re up for a challenge, the Gardening career is perfect for you.
Beekeeping
So if you’re into bees, Seasons Expansion for The Sims 4 made a fun addition. You can raise bees and harvest honey! It’s a super fun way to get your Sims involved in the seasonal changes. You can help your bees by planting flowers, harvesting crops and looking after the hives. Plus, you can use tools and objects found in the game to level up your beekeeping skills.
And if you wanna dive deeper into the world of bees, Seasons got plenty of activities, fresh skills and guides to help you out. Whether you’re new to the hobby or already a pro beekeeper, there’s something for everyone.
Flower Arranging: Have your sims craft flower arrangements
The Seasons expansion pack for The Sims 4 doesn’t only focus on four seasons and heartfelt holidays for Sims to celebrate. It adds more depth for what your Sims can do.
From gardening, fishing, cooking, to completing new tasks and quests, there’s always something to do. And the best part, you earn rewards like new skills, items, and more.
One of the new skills you can learn is flower arranging. Your Sims craft flower arrangements in pots or on tables, and it’s perfect for those who love to make their homes look beautiful.
Even if you don’t want to become a full-blown floral designer, it’s fun to spruce up your home.
Sims 4 Seasons Holiday Decorations Guide
So far we’ve only highlighted activities. But as anyone who is really into seasonal activities will tell you – decorating your house is half the fun.
And in Sims 4 Seasons, well, you’ve got options. You can either go the classic route with Buy Mode or let your Sim do the job.
Decorate the outside of the house with banners and lights, deck out the Christmas tree, showcase homemade holiday crafts made by the kids or go wild with your own creativity.
If you’re looking to decorate the exterior of the house, you gotta place The Attic Shack Decoration Box somewhere on your lot. This will give you the opportunity to change, add and remove decorations on the exterior of your house.
Bring Sims together, gather friends, and decorate the fences, eaves, foundations, friezes, and spandrels. There’s tons of options to choose from; banners, garlands, lights, streamers, icicles and buntings.
Easter and Spring in The Sims 4

From Easter egg hunts to family picnics, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the new season. Spring is all about new beginnings, spring shower, and the game celebrates it with special events like a flower festival and a spring garden tour.
And if that’s not enough, you can also complete special holiday quests during Spring and Easter in The Sims 4. Especially fun with child Sims. Whether you’re looking to add some festive atmosphere to your game, immersing yourself in the world of The Sims 4 Seasons is the way to go.
Also, you’ll get the Flower Bunny visiting just like Father Winter.
To have your Sims celebrate this tradition, all your Sims have to do is participate in Friendly interactions with the Flower Bunny. Unlike Father Winter, the Flower Bunny doesn’t need a fireplace to show up and interact with Sims. This adorable NPC is sure to bring springtime joy to Sims (and players) on the virtual Easter holiday.
Activities and Features
Sims 4: Seasons lets you bring the joy of heartfelt holiday traditions straight to your gaming experience. String up twinkling lights, enjoy a bountiful harvest feast, bake Christmas cookies, or add custom holidays, the possibilities are endless.
Dress Sims in different clothes based on the season and temperature.
And if you’re feeling extra jolly, you can even play Santa Claus! But don’t take our word for it, try it out for yourself and see how much fun it is to bring the holiday cheer to your virtual life.
Just one warning though, decorating your virtual home for the holidays might be so much fun, you’ll forget its not real!
Frequently Asked Questions
How long will each season last and how many seasons are there in total?
There are 10 total seasons in The Sims 4: Seasons, each lasting for around two weeks.
Does Sims 4 Seasons add enough to the gameplay?
The Sims 4 Seasons expansion pack adds variety to your gameplay. Holidays are similar to the clubs feature in Get Together, they give the game a greater sense of progression and a more improved atmosphere. Plus, there are more activities for your Sims to do, making the game more interesting.
But, before you get too excited, keep in mind that it’s still the Sims 4. If you’re not a fan of the underlying gameplay, Seasons probably won’t change that. And, if you’re mostly interested in building options, there are better expansions out there.
But, if you want to do holiday builds, then Seasons is your jam! The holiday decor is great and you can make pretty snowy cottages and such. Seasons does add a lot to the game, even without a world of its own, but you have to play in the right worlds to experience it.
The holidays are a charm to family life in the game, with Valentine’s Day and Christmas and a few others (all named differently, of course) and you can also make your own holidays with your own traditions which can be fun. The seasons are always changing so at least something in the game is never the same. In my opinion, snow adds a lot to the game as you can make snowmen and snow angels and have snowball fights and then there’s the addition of cold weather clothing.
It’s all together just a more immersive experience to have seasons in your game as it add some reality to the game that wasn’t there before. Seasons and Parenthood are the packs that I would recommend for the most immersive gameplay. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
